Wallpaper Removal in Lubbock

Old wallpaper can make a room feel older than it is. In this kitchen, wallpaper ran across the upper walls and through the dining area, with a border along the top. It was the first thing to go, and the room started to feel larger and brighter as soon as it was down.

Why Wallpaper Removal Takes Care

Taking down wallpaper is rarely a matter of just pulling it off. Old adhesive, paper backing and walls that were never primed can all cause trouble, and rushing can tear the drywall surface underneath.

Why Not Just Paint Over It?

Painting over wallpaper can seem easier, but seams and edges tend to show through and the paper can loosen later. Removing it properly gives you a clean wall to work with.

How We Remove Wallpaper

Every wall is different, and what is under the paper is not known until it starts to come off. This is the usual order of work:

  • Protecting floors and furnishings
  • Testing how the paper comes off
  • Removing the paper and backing
  • Cleaning off the old adhesive
  • Repairing and smoothing the wall
  • Priming and painting

Then Comes the Fun Part

With the wallpaper gone, soft green walls and white cabinets gave this kitchen a completely new feel. See how the rest of it came together in our kitchen remodeling project, or contact us about your walls.
